Art @ Edgecumbe

Art @ Edgecumbe was an external brief for Mount Edgecumbe Country Park. The Black Bee Reserve was the focal point to this project, with the intention of raising awareness of the importance of the native bees and pollinators. This sculpture was designed as part of the 2nd year of the 3D Design Craft degree at Plymouth College of Art.

The sculpture name 'The Forager' was made from hand blown glass, ceramics, natural fibres and steel. It was located in the French Formal Gardens in the Country Park near the bee reserve. Charlotte's primary research into the extraordinary journey of the Apis Mellifera Mellifera was formed by guided tours of the grounds and Apiary and historical information by the head groundsman David Marshall.
